We have a lot going on in the next few months so get your diaries out and lets do this:

Tomorrow (Monday 11th) the box will be closed for the public holiday. A workout which can be done with minimal equipment will be posted.
Yoga/Stretch Class Trial – week 2
Thank you for your strong support of Teresa’s Yoga/Stretch class last Thursday.
This week the classes will be at:
Thursday 1730 (replacing the usual CrossFit session)
Saturday 0900 (replacing the usual Open Gym)
Goal Setting Workshop –Series One
Also This Saturday we will be holding the first of four Goal Setting Workshops for 2013.
We can’t recommend these sessions enough. Without exception all athletes who have attended these sessions are noticablably more focused and driven.
All CrossFitters welcome. More information here.
Colossal Olympic Lift-off
Our good friends at CrossFit Colossus are hosting a CrossFit Olympic Lifting competition on the 2nd March. These events are loads of fun and I would encourage everyone to enter regardless of experience or ability.
This competition will use the Sinclair coefficient formula to calculate the winner. The Sinclair coefficient formula is used to compare the results of weightlifters of various bodyweights. This means its not necessarily the heaviest overall lift which wins.
Please download the entry form here and drop it off along with the entry fee at CF42s next time you train.
The CrossFit Open – Register NOW!
This year the CrossFit Open promises to be bigger than ever.
Regardless of experience or ability we would encourage all athletes to register and compete.
This is an amazing opportunity to test yourself against the worlds fittest humans in the worlds biggest fitness competition.
For those of you that are concerned that you might not have what it takes to beat the likes of Rich Froning and Matt Chan – chillax, we will like all workouts be there to appropriately scale the WODs for you. It may mean you won’t be able to register your score but at least you’ll live to train another day.
The Open is a great way to take yourself out of your comfort zone and see what you are truly capable of in a fun and super supportive environment.
Register HERE (don’t forget to join the CrossFit 42South Team)
‘The Brave’ Friday Night Hit-Out!
This year, on the Friday nights during the five weeks of the CrossFit Open CF42s will host the 3 other affiliates of Hobart in ‘The Brave – Friday Night Hit-Out”.
This will be a local competition where athletes will compete and be officially judged on the CrossFit Open Workout of the week.
Even if you aren’t in to competition get around this and support your fellow athletes.
This event is for everyone. Whilst we will determine the fittest athlete in Hobart the focus is primarily about the spirit of community and supporting each other to be just a little bit better everyday.

Tasmanian Arm Wrestling Titles
On Friday Night a bunch of CF42s athletes attended the Tassie Arm Wrestling Titles at the Republic Bar for what turned out to be one of the funniest nights EVER!
Long story short our Jess and Tan entered in the female comp and not only did well but Jess ended up taking the title! Congrats Jess and well done Tan – a proud coaching moment.
As we often discuss, frequency and consistency of training are a major factor in an athlete achieveing their goals in fitness no matter what those goals may be.
Congratulations to the following athletes for having the Top 10 attendance stats in January:
Tan, Josh.P, Dan, Jak, Timmy, Tasha, Matty.B, Jaci, Charles and DJ.
Righto family meeting adjourned. Please post all questions/commentry to comments.
