CF42s get behind this great initiative from Linds. All classes on the Saturday will will cancelled to encourage as many athletes as possible to support this great cause:
Here is your chance to put that CrossFit real life functional fitness to the test while using it to make a truly positive difference to someone in need.
Bushfire is a real possibility for many of us. The Fair Dinkum Clean Up Team are helping clear and regenerate property which has been devastated by the fires and they need our help.
We often talk of the strength of our CrossFit community and the great power it has to support and encourage its members in many aspects of life. We also have great power to come together as a community and put our strengths to good use. I am not asking for a dollar but a day of your time to make a positive and significant impact on a community that has been devastated by bushfire. Time is a precious commodity and it is the greatest gift we can give. Together we can make a difference.
The inspiration for this effort comes from my connection to the community through a dear friend who lives there and also from an amazing man whom I met while volunteering with the Clean Up Team recently. Ross has no previous connection to the people of Murdunna but he was so moved by their plight that he gave up a new job and a new life to commit himself to the community full time without pay until the work is done. This man and his team will be directing us on the day to whatever task, large or small, that needs attention.
So let’s rally the troops for one big effort and put in a few hours hard yakka for a good cause. And don’t forget your togs, Sommers Bay is a great spot for a swim and a BBQ after a hard day’s work!
I will provide more details to those of you who register for the event closer to the day.
