When: Sunday 28th September (day after AFL grand final day)
Who: All CrossFitters and good looking friends welcome
Meet at CF42s at 0900 for a 0915 departure.
Short 15 minute coffee break in Huonville then onwards to Hartz Mountain national park
We should be walking by around 1030-1100.
The walk itself is a steady climb for the first hour, followed by a steep rock scramble for the last half hour. The top of Hartz Mountain offers amazing views of a lot of the south west national park, including Precipitous Bluff and the Eastern Arthur’s Range.
Heading back to Hobart around 1400 with a late lunch (and beer of course) at Huonville.
Back at CF42s around 1530.
If keen post to comments.
Directions from Hobart to Hartz Mountain national park:
Hartz Mountains is 84 km South-West of Hobart. From Hobart, drive south on the A6 (Southern Outlet), following the signs to Huonville and Geeveston. In Geeveston turn right on the Arve Road (C632), which is clearly signposted for Hartz Mountains National Park. Much of the C632 is a winding, steep, but good quality sealed road. A sign marks the turn-off to the park. The last section of the road continues for 10.5 km and is unsealed and can sometimes be closed by snow.
Car (we can organise a car pool when we are at the box)
Walking boots (inov 8 and five fingers not recommend as the track is muddy and wet at times)
Cold weather jacket
Snacks (paleo snacks are optional )
Medication if your special needs
Spare change of socks and shoes to leave in the car
